Below are questions pertaining specifically to asthma. For more information, see our Asthma section or call our office.
Will my child outgrow his/her asthma?
Asthma is a chronic disease that can wax and wane throughout the course of someone’s life. We feel that asthma can go into remission, but will never be completely gone. It is possible that your child may become symptom free at any point and never require daily medication.
Should I limit my child’s participation in sports because they have asthma?
No, the more your child participates in sports, the healthier he or she will be. Aerobic activity increases the amount of healthy lung tissue available, which improves overall health.
Is my child’s asthma due to anything that I have done?
Asthma is a genetic disease. No behavior or action of yours caused your child to develop asthma.
